Cold brew steeps for 12 to 24 hours, and that pulls everything out of the bean. Medium and dark roasted beans hold up best because the extra time in the roaster develops the chocolate, caramel, and nutty notes that cold extraction brings forward. Our Corsica blend is smooth, balanced, and built for exactly this kind of brewing.
Cold Brew Coffee Grounds Size
Grind size matters more here than in almost any other brew method. You want a coarse grind. Too fine, and the cold brew turns bitter. We sell Nizza beans ground pre-ground to that exact size. Many also prefer whole beans and grind them right before brewing for the freshest cup.
Do You Need Special Beans for Cold Brew?
You don't need a special bean, but you do need the right roast level and grind size. A medium to dark roast ground coarse will get you closer to what a cafe serves than a random bag of coffee from the shelf. We also have ready to drink cold brew for those looking for a quick cup.
